Valheim Boss Guide

Valheim-Bosses

Apart from the crafting survival sandbox in Valheim, players are also required to defeat five bosses (known for now) called the Forsaken to progress further into the game. For example, defeating the first boss will unlock the pickaxe recipe.

Each boss must be summoned and are found in a different area of the world. Good to know is that some boss locations appear on the map while others need to be discovered by using runes. Defeating a boss will award you with special powers, loot, recipes. The five Valheim bosses are Eikthyr, The Elder, Bonemass, Moder, Yagluth.

Eikthyr

Valheim-Eikthyr

Location: Meadows
Summon Requirements: Place two Deer Trophies on the altar
Reward: Hard antlers, Eikthyr Trophy, stamina buff forsaken power
Tips: Be aware of Eikthyr's electrified antlers these to shoot electricity from a distance, also his close-ranged stomp and a ram attack. Get full night sleep and arm yourself with bow and shield.

The Elder

Valheim-Elder

Location: Burial Chambers in The Black Forest
Summon Requirements: burn three Ancient Seeds
Reward: Key for Swamp area, Elder Trophy, wood chopping speed forsaken power
Tips: Watch for his range attack-vine attack, stomping attack and the occasional ground vine summon swipe. For weapon strategy, go with bow and flame arrows.

Bonemass

Valheim-Bonemass

Location: Swamp crypts (find the rune to unlock the correct location)
Summon Requirements: Offer ten Wither Bones
Reward: Wishbone, Bonemass Trophy, increased resistance to physical damage forsaken power
Tips: Bonemass's three attacks are melee attack for up close, toxic area of effect and summoning minions such as skeletons and oozes to his help. Apart from the required improved armour and upgraded weapons (use upgraded wooden club). get ahold with plenty of poison resistant mead. Don't bother using the bow and arrows here, they do almost no damage.

Moder

Location: Mountains
Summon Requirements: three dragon eggs
Reward: Dragon tears, Moder Trophy, tailwind while sailing forsaken power
Tips: Moder also has three series of attacks such as swipe, flight attack that pours projectiles, and a freezing breath attack that will impair your movement. Bow and arrows are your best weapon choice however the real enemy here is the cold weather so come prepared wearing wolf armour and frost resistant mead.

Yagluth

Location: Plains
Summon Requirements: five fuling totems
Reward: Yagluth Trophy, resistance to elemental attacks forsaken  power - and a new material that isn't implemented yet
Tips: Watch out for his long-range flamethrower breath attack especially while he uses his hand to swipe an area. Also, there are two fist attacks one that has an area of effect and the other that summons meteors. You'll need plenty of healing potions and your best armour, black metal gear.
Range attacks are also a good strategy, but for the best outcome take this boss co-op with a friend and rush in melee while he is distracted.
